The experiment was carried out in order to investigate the effects of different beta-glucan concentrations on hematological parameters of striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) fingerling. Experiment included six different diets containing 0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5g beta-glucan in 1kg commercial pellet feed. Fish were fed experimental diets for 30 days. Blood were sampled at 1, 3, 7, 14 and 30 days to determine red blood cell, white blood cell, hematocrit, hemoglobin and total immunoglobulin level. After 30 days, the result showed that red blood cell, white blood cell, hemoglobin and total immunoglobulin level in diet containing 1.0g treatment (2.71± 0.13 cell/mm3, 118.8±19.1 cell/mm, 10.35±1.03 and 16.06± 1.41 respectively) were significantly higher (P< 0.05) than those of other treatments. Moreover, in treatment of diet containing 1g beta-glucan, red blood cell, white blood cell, hematocrit and hemoglobin level increased during feeding time and total immunoglobulin reached the highest concentration. Thus, feeding beta-glucan to striped catfish at level of 1 g/kg enhance the fish immunology and hematological parameters. The findings become important for the use of beta-glucan in term of dosage.
