CAN THO UNIVERSITY:

Making great changes for development

n the new global and national context with great opportunities and challenges,
Iespecially globalization, the fourth industry revolution (industry 4.0), digital
transformation, circular economy, green economy, etc., human development is
considered as the foundation for sustainable development. Can Tho University
has been aiming for strong and sustainable development, especially for the
strategy in the 2022-2025 period with a vision to 2030. The University identifies
changes according to three important pillars: teaching and learning, research
and development, and community service to make differences for development.
The University aims to educate human resources who are competitive, adaptable
to changes and influential in domestic and international labor market; develop
in-depth, interdisciplinary and advanced scientific research to create scientific
products for promoting national and regional growth; and become an important link
in the chain of economic - cultural - social activities.
Can Tho University determines great changes, in 2022 for further development
in the coming time, focusing on (i) establishment of specialized universities
under Can Tho University and branches of Can Tho University in Hau Giang
and Soc Trang provinces; (ii) development of digital transformation in intelligent
management systems, online platforms for teaching and learning, and knowledge
and technology transfer; (iii) improvement of the existing study programs,
opening new programs to meet the society’s demand for human resources; (iv)
enhancement of facilities capacity through operating and exploiting high-tech
laboratories and rooms under the Japanese Government’s ODA loan project;
(v) promotion of scientific publication, especially international publication and
intellectual property; (vi) implementation of the forum of SDMD (Sustainable
Development of the Mekong Delta).

With high determination and assembling available resources, Can Tho University
strives to make great changes in the new development phase, and the year of
2022 is considered an important milestone to fulfill the University’s mission with the
slogan "Community - Totality - Uniqueness".
