STUDENTS IN THE AGE OF INTERNATIONAL INTEGRATION
Inthecontextofglobalizationandinternationaleconomicintegration,Vietnameseyouth,
in general, and CTU's students, in particular, are facing favorable opportunities as well
as considerable challenges in the process of the adaptation in such a comprehensive
and global working environment. In 2015, the milestones, i.e. the establishment of ASEAN
Community and the Trans-Pacific Partnership, have required young generations to consider
choosing academic goals, self-improving and career establishing so as to survive, grow up
and compete. It is time for students to be aware of their roles and responsibilities in the
age of global economic integration; actively prepare themselves with necessary things to
make improvements and start a career; become clever and creative in accessing information
resources and learning from worldwide friends to improve themselves and raise Vietnam's
position in the global rankings.
Looking back on the activities and movements of CTU's Youth Union; the efforts of learning
and practicing, especially the volunteerism and activeness in exchange programs and
integration were highlighted.
In 2015, the Youth Union has organized and sent more than 60 staff members and students
to several cultural, traditional artistic and academic exchange programs such as the JENESYS
Science and Technology program in Japan, the 13th ASEAN and 3rd ASEAN +3 Youth Cultural
Forum in Philippines, Cultural Summer Camp in Thailand, the exchange program with Royal
University of Phnom Penh, etc.
In addition, the Youth Union and Student Association have actively built up the plans
for propagandas, promotions, and introductions about different cultures, traditions and
opportunities to pursue oversea study in America, Australia, Korea, and Taiwan. The
organizations of the Cultural Day of foreign countries like Japan, Israel, Indonesia and Korea
attracted a widespread participation of students inside and outside the University. Besides,
students have improved their knowledge and self-confidence through exchange programs with
international experts, students, and volunteers; meetings with the diplomatists from different
countries like US Ambassador, US Consul General, Italian Ambassador, Israeli Ambassador,
Canadian Ambassador, and Korean Consul General. Understanding the importance of foreign
