Integrated Information System
Effective and efficient solutions to improve the University's
governance and management
At the very early stages of the University development progress, CTU
determined that information technology would be an important tool to
improve the effectiveness of the University's management work. In 2002,
CTU established the Project "Developing and applying information and
communication technologies", and one of the top priorities of this Project was
developing management software. With available resources, actual management
practices and experience of the University, after nearly one year, the management
software was successfully developed with a few initial modules called as "the
Integrated Information System". In 2003, the Integrated Information System
was first implemented, and its contribution to the University's efficiency of the
management and improvement of education quality could not be denied. Since
then, the System has been continuously upgraded to meet the needs of the
University.
Currently, the Integrated Information System has more than 20 modules to
serve effectively the work of training, management and scientific research of
CTU of which more than 60,000 students and 2,000 staff members have been
studying and working. Accordingly, the System has contributed to simplifying
administrative work and enhancing proactive, creative, and self-directed
qualities for staff members and especially for students to prepare a stable base
for their future.
The Integrated Information System has offered an undoubtedly effective
facilitation for the whole operation of CTU. It is crucial that the System should
be continuously updated towards the information technology innovation and the
further development of CTU, and particularly the complete improvement of the
management of the credit-based training system which has been applied since
the academic year 2007-2008.
