Inaugurating the National Defense Education Center of CTU:
A new step for training national defense and security for students
In September 2014, the National Defense Education Center of CTU was solemnly
inaugurated at Hoa An Campus (the fourth campus located in Hau Giang province,
about 40 km from the main campus of the University in Can Tho City). The operation
of this center is very significant for CTU to fulfill the task of training national defense for
CTU's students, as well as for students of other universities and colleges in the Mekong
Delta. The center was built on the total site area of 8,848 m2 and the total floor area of
14,700 m2, with the total budget of more than 168 billion VND, including the necessary
design works such as blocks with halls for learning theories, a center office, practice
grounds, dining rooms, dormitories and other ancillary works.
The capacity of the center is able to receive about 1,000 students per training session.
The operation of the center provides an important contribution to improving the quality
and practicality of national defense for students. After 2 weeks of training in the military-
like environment, students can have experience of actual soldiers to carry out their duties
to protect the country. Also, they can acquire other useful skills and enhance good qualities
necessary for their future.
