CTU is always honored to receive particular attention and strong supports
from the central Government and the local authorities in the Mekong Delta
InDecember2014,Mr.LeHongAnh,MemberofPoliticalBureau,StandingMemberofSecretariatoftheCommunist
Party of Vietnam (CPV) kindly came to visit and had a meeting with voters, who are representatives of staff and
students of Can Tho University (CTU). This is the second time CTU has been in great honors to welcome the high-
ranking Communist Party and State leaders after the warm visit by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in 2003.
On this occasion, Mr. Le Hong Anh kindly expressed his great appreciation to CTU, he said "... With the traditions of
forty-eight year sustainable development, I strongly believe that, CTU will continue to successfully fulfill all assigned
missions and tasks, reaching the University's goals and accomplish more and more comprehensive achievements in
education, research and technology transfer, contributing to the development of the Mekong Delta. Particularly, as
located in Can Tho City, CTU will be going on to be hand-in-hand with the Communist Party, the City Government and
People to build up the City as the "National-level Delta City", civilized, modern, green, clean, beautiful, and worthy as
the educational, industrial, commercial, scientific-technological, cultural and health care center of the Mekong Delta
and the State as well, deserving the expectations and trusts of the Communist Party and the People".
Mr. Le Hong Anh also directed, "... I suggest the Ministries and central Agencies, and the provincial and city
Communist Parties who are concerned, especially the Ministry of Education and Training, Can Tho City's Communist
Party and People Committee, with your functions and duties, will continue to pay particular attention and strong
supports to CTU by directing, facilitating, collaborating, assisting, providing a hand to help the University perform
well the missions and duties in training, scientific research, and providing high quality human resource to serve the
Mekong Delta and the whole State in general for the sustainable growth".
Prior to the visit of Mr. Le Hong Anh, in the year, CTU also welcomed many senior leaders from the Central
Communist Party and State, leaders from the central Agencies and from the local authorities of the city and provinces
in the Mekong Delta. Among the distinguished leaders were Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, Member of Central Committee of
the CPV, Head of the Party's Central Economic Committee; Mr. Nguyen Phong Quang, Deputy Head of the Permanent
Steering Committee of the South West; Mr. Tran Thanh Man, Member of Central Committee of the CPV, Secretary of
Communist Party Committee of Can Tho City;...
The visits of the central and local leaders have expressed their deep care and attention to CTU, which are the great
honor and encouragement to the staff and students of CTU striving to fully complete the missions and duties to serve
the firm development of the Mekong Delta and the whole State as well.
