Simulation using statistical software has been a new method of teaching probability in high schools. In this article, the authors briefly introduce the use of R software in teaching probability through simulation; two probability problems can also be simulated using R software. Misconceptions of students when solving these problems are considered. Every problem has been simulated with different sample sizes so that students can visualize the way that relative frequencies of an event tend to the probability of the event.
