This study was aimed to evaluate antibacterial, antiobesity and antioxidant activities of the ethanol, ethyl acetate, hexane and aqueous extracts from Vernonia cinerea (L.) Less. The antimicrobial activity showed that ethyl acetate extract had effect against two bacterial strains including E. coli and, V. parahaemolyticus higher than positive control (amoxicillin) with MIC ≤ 8 µg/mL and 16 µg/mL, respectively. Besides, in vitro antioxidant activities using ABTS (diamonium-2,2’-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonate)) revealed ethyl acetate extract was the most potent extract with IC50 value 12.94 µg/mL in comparison to trolox (positive control) with IC50 value 12.06 µg/mL. Remarkably, the antiobesity activity on transgenic Drosophila model (Bmm-GFP) showed the ethyl acetate extract mixing with standard food had the highest expression of GFP gene compared with control sample and the other samples.
