The present study revealed that the methanol leaf extract of Mo Leo (Paederiascandens L.) contained alkaloids, flavonoids, glycoside, phenols and tanins. The total polyphenol and flavonoid contents of Paederiascandens L. were 16,72±0,21 mg GAE/g and 294,76±7,76 mg GAE/g, respectively. The antioxidative potential of the methanol leaf extract of Paederiascandens L. was evaluated using various antiradical scavenging activities including 2,2–diphenyl–1–picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), iron reducing power method and total antioxidant capacity using phosphomolypdenum method. The results have shown that Paederia scandens L. methanol leaf extract possessed relatively high antioxidant activity, with EC50=107,71 µg/mL and OD0,5=582,20 µg/mL in DPPH and iron reducing power method, respectively. Total antioxidant capacity (OD0,5=15,847±0.231µg/mL) was compared to that of the standard, trolox (OD0,5=2,315±0,083 μg/mL). The anti-inflammatory effect of Mo Leo leaf extract obtained in Bovine serum albumin denaturation test (EC50= 6,03±0,12μg/mL) was comparable to reference drugs, diclofenac sodium (EC50= 0,57±0,21µg/mL).
