Chemical constituents of Vernonia amygdalina Del. were investigated lead to isolate four compounds including syringaresinol-O-β-D-glucoside (1), apigenin 7-O-β-D-glucoside (2), luteolin 7-O-β-D-glucoside (3), and trans-phytol (4). In which, the lignan glycoside (1) and trans phytol were firstly isolated from this material. These structures were elucidated by modern spectroscopic methods as ESI-MS, 1D- and 2D-NMR as well as compare to published data. The study has been continued.
