The objective of this stduy was to evaluate the effects of ME levels in the diet on feed intake, milk production and weight loss of sows; and on preweaning performance, diarrhoea proportion of the piglets. A total of 28 sows were arranged in a randomized complete block design with seven block of four treatments . The animals were fed on four diets with different levels of metablisable energy (ME) during six weeks: ME3000, ME3100, ME3200 and ME3300. Experimental time included o ne week prior to farrowing, one week after weaning and during 28 days of lactation. Results showed that, average daily feed intake (ADFI) before farrowing and during lactation were reduced
