A study was carried out to determine the optimum levels of dietary protein and threonine on daily weight gain, growth performance and carcass characteristics of growing local Muscovy ducks. For the period from 5-8 weeks of age, a total of 180 local Muscovy ducks at four weeks of age were arranged in a factorial design with two factors, the first factor was crude protein (CP) levels (17, 18 and 19%) and the second one was threonine levels (0.7 and 0.8%), with dietary metabolisabe energy (ME) being 12,96 MJ ME/kg DM. There were three replicates of 10 birds, balanced for sex per experimental unit. For the period from 9-12 weeks of age, 180 local Muscovy ducks at 8 weeks of age were allotted in a similar design of the first period, but the CP levels were 15, 16 and 17% and the threonine levels were 0.5 and 0.6%, with dietary metabolisabe energy (ME) being 13,80 MJ ME/kg DM.
