Understanding tourist travel behavior is crucial for destination managers and travel and tourism businesses to achieve success. This study aims to explore the current travel behavior of tourists from Can Tho City to Da Lat. Da Lat was chosen as the focus due to its status as a renowned destination in Vietnam. Besides, Da Lat tends to rank high among the destinations chosen by Can Tho tourists when traveling. The study collected primary data through direct surveys of 231 tourists using a structured questionnaire. The results revealed that the primary motivations for tourists from Can Tho visiting Da Lat were sightseeing and relaxation, accounting for over 80% of respondents. On average, these tourists preferred to stay for 2 to 3 nights and often organized their own trips rather than opting for tour packages. Traveling with friends was the most common choice, indicating a desire to share experiences and make memories together. Buses and cars were the main means of travel to Da Lat, while renting self-driving motorbikes within the city was popular due to the freedom and convenience it offered. Accommodation preferences leaned towards homestays, reflecting a desire for authentic local experiences. On average, tourists from Can Tho spent 5 million VND on their trips, with those organizing their own tours spending 5.35 million VND, and those using tour companies spending 3.74 million VND. Additionally, tourists who spent significantly more (averaging about 9 million VND) tended to stay at luxury resorts and villas. These findings provide valuable insights for destination managers and travel businesses seeking to cater to the preferences and behaviors of tourists from Can Tho visiting Da Lat.
