A survey of 360 urban and suburban respondents was conducted in Can Tho, Hau Giang, Dong Thap and Tien Giang, Mekong Delta, Vietnam to experience respondents’ knowledge and awareness on domestic solid waste segregation at source and examine factors affecting their awareness and acceptance to practice the proposed program on domestic solid waste segregation at source when it is introduced. The result shows that about 37% of respondents know about this practice and its benefits. Binary logit models were used to examine factors influencing respondents’ awareness and acceptance this proposed program. Respondents’ age, gender and educational attainment and their awareness on the danger of mixing electronic waste with other types of domestic waste are significant variables affecting respondents’ awareness in segregating solid waste at source are. Whereas variables of household size, aware the danger of electronic waste and study sites influence significantly their acceptance to practice this proposed program.
